Wickerfish Arts is a vibrant working studio run by Ruth Clayton and Stuart Gray.

Woolfest was a great weekend and we had lots of fun meeting new woolly friends. My mice were greatly admired which made all my hard work worth while.
Have a look at my ''Wickercritters' page to get a sneak preview of my little needlefelted sculptures. They will be appearing in our studio at Farfield Mill soon

We're both still painting and working towards the Sedbergh Art exhibition in August (tue 22nd to Mon 28th inc) which will be held in Sedbergh school's little library next to loftus hill car park.
Hope to see you there 😊
Oh and watch out for us at

Wickerfish studio is situated in the Farfield Mill Heritage Centre at the foot of the 'Howgills' on the edge of Cumbria and Yorkshire. Farfield Mill, a restored Victorian woollen Mill, is just one mile east of Sedbergh, a small and friendly town which boasts Sedbergh School which was founded in 1525 and some of the most stunning scenery in the area.

We work in a relaxed and informal studio where people are always welcome to come and see us. Our work is produced in a range of styles and mediums including oils, watercolours, acrylics and mixed media. Not only do we produce pictures but we also design and make our own unique range of contemporary clocks and hand-made needle felted creatures. All our work appeals to a wide audience and also caters for all budgets.

As well as working in our studio we run drawing and painting workshops in the Educational area of the mill. A simple click on the Workshop link will help you to find out more details.

We also lead the more adventurous Wickerwalks; our own entertaining version of walk and draw days and weekends. It's a great way to enjoy the surrounding scenery and capture it in a sketchbook. Under our guidance you will then produce a painting from one of your sketches to take home with you as a framed masterpiece.

Have a day out and pay us a visit.
